Akonoba: Manager Of Backbone Speaks On Backbone's Album

Wed, 1 Feb 2006 Source: ghanamusic.com

Akonoba, the manager has revealed to Ghana Music.com that new entrants to hip life music Backbone are doing very well in the game.

He went on to say that the teaser of Backbone’s album which they started last year went on well and the response they received was really high. "Indications from radio DJs show it will go places, I mean every DJ has it as his favorite", he said.

Fans of hip life music who haven't heard of Backbone yet will be psyched up if they hear singles like 'Chalewote' and 'Yoomo', but for now the group are spawning success for themselves.

Coming out of Hammer's camp, they have ushered in new styles - the Kakalika rap style which is an imitation of the Ewe man's way of speaking Twi and English and Animalia rap style which has animal features.

With guests artistes like Abortion, Kwabena Kwabena, Okra and Obadiah blessing the album, it is already generating heat in the hip life game as intensive promotion has started early this year.

Kakalika (also called Titi Ntefre), a member of Backbone says "the album is so hot that the DJs have rather chosen the songs they want them to promote".

Backbone is a group to watch and anyone who sides with them should tag along as their album title says - 'Chalewote' (Charlie let's take hip life to a new level)'. ?

They want fans of hip life music to know that they have only scratched the surface of the album thus they should expect more surprises as they prepare to embark on a tour.

Soldiers so far that have backed the project are Dr Duncan, DJ Vyrox, AB, Micky Darling, Ekow Poncho, Christopher, Lawyer, Double D, and every one who has helped in a little way, they say thanks.

It's hard to miss this album when you've got some of the best hip life artistes on it, so everyone go grab a copy of the album or call +233 24 4884 481 and +233 24 3607 446.
