Kwadwo And Kojo Are Simply Great

Talking of Ghanaian music particularly highlife, two names stand tall among others, Charles Kwadwo Fosu a.k.a Daddy Lumba and Julius Kojo Antwi also known as Mr Music Man. They are incomparable.

This was confirmed by a number of callers during a recent interview between Kojo Antwi and Fiifi Banson on Peace FM.

Considering how they started their musical careers and their stand in Ghana and beyond the shores of our borders, both have achieved a great feat in their endeavours, because they have great followers with some tracing their style of singing.

Doing music for more than two decades now, Lumba and Kojo Antwi are real forces to reckon with. Listening to songs from Kojo like Bra, little Prayer for the World, Densu, Mmrika, Osibo, Children of the Future, Give Peace a Chance and Odo Mmra Fie, Sika Asem and Ohia Asem from Daddy Lumba, I sometimes wonder how they put their words together to come up with such brilliant and enjoyable tunes.

Touching on their generosity to other artistes Kojo and Lumba need to be commended. The likes of Borax, Afua Ampofowa, Abigail Appenteng, Mr. All 4real and Mary Adjapong , Kontihene and Nana Yaa come up from the camp of Lumba and Kojo .

They have also served as songwriters and producers to other musicians in the country.

However the two have never met on an album to give us a little of their magic but I know they have had a number of shows together at Brixton Academy in the UK.

It is my fervent prayer that they will come out with an album soon. During a recent interview on Peace FM with the dynamite Fiifi Banson, Kojo confirmed that next year during our 50th golden jubilee anniversary the two are going to mount the stage to do what they love to do best.

This was after a caller had asked Kojo Antwi to collaborate with Lumba because they are the best.
