Pastor Cudjo, the husband of Agnes Opoku Agyeman a popular gospel songstress who won the award for the best female vocal performance at the 2005 Ghana Music Awards has been arrested by the Asokwa police for illegal duplication (pirating) and threatening the life of Stephen Asiedu.
His arrest was caused by Agnes Opoku Agyemang?s producer Stephen Asiedu better known as Asteve.
A misunderstanding that could have easily been solved between husband and producer eventually ended up at the Asokwa police station in Kumasi.
Narrating the incident on ?205? an entertainment review program on Channel ?R?, Asteve said it all started after Agnes got married; ?Pastor Cudjo told me he wanted to start producing his wife.
I was not against that because I didn?t have any future contract with Agnes but the only thing I told him was that if he wants to do anything he should start with a new album and not what I have already started?.
According to Asteve, he saw copies of Agnes Opoku Agyemang?s tapes and CDs weeks ago, at a location he had not sent copies to. So he called Big Ben who is the main distributor to find out if they had given copies to anybody like that but Big Ben denied knowledge of anything of that sort. When he confronted the person responsible for the printing of inlays, he was told the husband of Agnes Opoku Agyemang came to order copies of inlays with the excuse that Asteve had travelled outside the country. Anytime Asteve tries to meet Pastor Cudjo to talk things over, it either ended up in insults or hot argument between them.
When they finally met to sort out their differences at Asteve?s residence, things became even worse. The Pastor is alleged to have threatened to kill Asteve if he doesn?t stop business with his wife. ?Make sure you don?t drive from today because anytime you try it, you will be involved in an accident and that will be your last day on earth,? Asteve quoted Pastor Cudjo to have said.
Stephen also said Cudjo walked round his house several times, chanting words from his mouth after the threat.
For fear of his life and to be sure of his safety, Asteve reported the case to the Asokwa police which led to the arrest of the pastor and husband of the popular gospel music star.
He was detained for a few days and later granted bail. According the Asokwa police, Pastor Cudjo will be re-arrested should anything happen to Asteve in future.
