Daasebre Gwamena is to take advantage of the controversy that his ‘cocaine case’ stirred to stage a big show at the national theatre for his fans this year.

According to sources within his management, it’ll be one of the biggest concerts staged in Ghanaian music history and Daasebre shall interact directly with those who gave him the needed support in his time of trial. Daasebre’s first performance after his release was during a Republic Day jam at Madina, Zango Junction in an event organised by the new radio station on the block, Oman FM in Accra.

Sources in Daasebre’s camp say the star is busy in the studio working on his new album. It’s been reported that he wrote about a thousand songs while in police custody in the UK. The new album is expected to feature Wutah and Nana Ama Mcbrown who’s known more for her acting than singing in Ghana.

The new Daasebre album shall feature many surprise artists and earth-shattering songs.

It will be recalled that Daasebre was arrested in the early hours of June 29, 2006, by security and customs officials, when he disembarked from a British Airways flight from Accra to London, for possessing substances suspected to be cocaine.

He was however released in May this year after a jury hearing his case returned a not guilty verdict.

Until his arrest last year, Daasebre ‘Ahoofe’ Gwamena was one of the hottest and most sought after musicians in the country. He has released several hit albums including ‘kokooko’, ‘obaa’ and ‘you can’t touch me’. The multiple award-winning Daasebre is set to send shockwaves across the country with a concert and a new album.
