Wutah to do it again

`Me a me Goosy Gander, Where shall I wonder, upstairs or downstairs in my little chamber`. This is the popular song on the lips of many Ghanaians, especially kids today, thanks to the composers, the two young men who go by the name, Wutah.

The name Wutah is a Hausa word which means fire. The two came into the limelight when they placed second to Praye during an international Nescafe Africa Revelation music competition in Accra.

They later made a demo of some of their songs but had difficulties getting a producer until they met Juliet Amoah of G-strings Entertainment who recorded their album.

Daniel Morris (Risky) and Frank Osei (Papa Virus or PV) make Wutah, a group that was formed five years ago when they collaborated to perform in a programme at Wesley Grammar Secondary School in Accra.

Wutah`s style of singing proves that hiplife music goes beyond the boundaries of just rapping to the rhythm of a song. Their style is melodious and blends with the beat of the music.

To the surprise of their fans, last Saturday at the 12th edition of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards Night when the Crusading Guide reporter, Anas Aremeyao Anas, won the best journalist of the year 2006, Wutah once again dropped a hint that they will release a new album soon.

According to the group, the album will feature songs which will give hope to Ghanaians on the streets who are exploring all means to achieve their goals in the future.

`I know you have a big dream and we have a big dream…. come what may our nation will realise this big dream. You know at this moment we have a new album coming up` they volunteered last Saturday.

Their album, Anamontuo with songs like `Adonko`, `Gossy Gander` and `Big Dreams` earned them eleven nominations in the 7th Ghana Music Awards for The Most Popular Song of the Year, Album Of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance, Hiplife Song of the Year, Hiplife Album of the Year, New Hiplife Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Artiste of the Year, New Artiste of the Year, Song Writer of the Year and Reggae Song of the Year.

Wutah makes use of rhythms and beautifully sing along with each of them. Watch out! GO will bring you more information on the Wutah`s new album very soon.
