Stars explode on Karoake night

Ordinarily Friday August 15, 2008 would have been another performance night for the contestants of Stars of the Future but for the four remaining contestants of season three of the music series, this was a Friday that they could look forward to without butterflies in the stomach.

The competition which began with a grand launch in June is drawing to a close as the grand finale is scheduled for August 23, 2008 at the National Theatre. After eight weeks of grueling performances, Ike, Daniel, Anita and Adina can look forward to the finals with renewed hope of being the one contestant that walks home with a brand new car from CFAO Motors and a recording contract that will set the tone for their music career.

Patron who will make it to see the final show down between the last four standing after eight evictions, can also look forward to brilliant performances from some of the best young artistes in the country including Asem, Sexy Tinny and the beautiful songstress, Becca. Also billed to perform is last year’s winner of the Stars of the, Justice. He is set to show the whole world what he has been up to since his win.

Daniel, Anita, Ike and Adina will face it off on Friday but before the final show down, all the contestants were brought together again for some good old fun and laughter at a pre-finals cocktail party that was held at Headline Hospitality in Accra. All the other contestants with the exception of Stephanie were there to reminisce on the good times as well as the trying times of the competition and together show some solidarity towards the finalists.

Deborah was at her rapping best and showed once again that she is a multi-talented talented young woman to look out for in the entertainment industry. Joe, Sheila, David and Lauretta and Max Joe whose profound prediction upon being evicted, that “I am not worried because I know next week someone else will be following me” came to pass with seven other contestants following on his heels, was there as usual in good humour.

There were lots of laughs to go round as the audience got up close and personal with all the contestants, giving advice to the budding artistes as well as sharing some jokes and mimicking the Judges comment section after Judge Bibie Brew took the stage to join in the Karaoke with Nat King Cole’s When I Fall in Love. Adina and Anita came together to sing Alicia Key’s If I Aint Got you while Ike and Daniel teamed up to sing R Kelly’s Gotham City all in the spirit of fun.

Stars of the Future is sponsored by Somovision, CFAO, MTN, Castle milk stout, Close up and Coca Cola. Those who are unable to be at the National Theatre on Saturday can watch the finals live on GTV as the programme is aired live at 8 Pm on August 23. The audience is therefore encouraged to help in making their favourite a winner by sending their name to MTN short code 1758 and on any other network.
