The one time King of highlife music in Ghana, popularly known as Nana Ampadu has yet added another surprise to the many surprises he is noted for.

The gifted musician who dominated the highlife scene between late 60’s till the 90’s has prophesized a landslide victory for the flag bearer presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akuffo-Addo Dankwah.

Speaking during an interview on a local radio station in Accra recently, Nana Ampadu said he had the revelation in a dream. According to him “Onyankropong” God, the maker of heaven and earth and all that dwell in it, has chosen the NPP flag bearer to be Ghana’s next President.“I had a dream, and the dream is about how God has directed me to convey the good news to Nana Akuffo-Addo about his imminent victory during the Dec. 2008 election.

The aging musician, who for sometime now has not make any new music, shocked the musical fraternity   when he abandoned his musical carrier in the 1990’s, to establish a construction company, that was getting government contacts during Rawlings’s NDC era.

As an influence personality in the musical industry in Ghana, prophet Nana Ampadu also featured prominently alongside artist like Obou, Lumba of “Aben wor ha” fame, Nat- Brew of the defunct NAKOREX, Gyadu Blay- Ambulay, Shasha Marley, Philippa Baafi, and some members of the Ghana of Actors Guild during a musical fiesta at the splash La-palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra recently.

Reliable information indicates that the Presidential Candidate of Ghana’s ruling party, the NPP, was seen in the midst of the fun basking musicians, although unconfirmed reports says that he was not officially invited.
