Opanka is a popular Ghanaian rapper
Ghanaian rapper Dadie Opanka has shared how maturity and personal growth have helped him develop a thick skin against negativity and disappointment.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on January 29, 2026, the rapper explained that he has learned not to allow people’s actions or inactions to affect his emotions.
According to him, he now focuses more on positivity and the love he receives rather than dwelling on hurt or betrayal.
“With growth and maturity, I’m trying to understand people. People can’t easily hurt me so the fact that you didn’t help me wouldn’t hurt me. I don’t want to allow people be able to control my emotions,” he said.

Opanka noted that holding on to pain only gives others power over one’s happiness.
“I feel like if you hurt me and I still think about it, you’ve taken something away from me. Genuinely, when something like that happens, I move on because I don’t really focus on that,” he stated.
The rapper further stressed that he intentionally chooses to remember the good people around him rather than negative experiences.
“I don’t even want to remember and I love to focus more on positivity. I know quite a number of people who show me love in the industry and I like to focus on them. I love to share light on positivity only,” he added.
