Renowned gospel musician, Nicholas Omane Acheampong has clapped back at Onua TV show host Captain Smart over an earlier statement the media personality made against Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah.

In a post shared on Instagram on February 20, 2026, Nicholas Omane Acheampong cautioned Captain Smart to be more tactful in how he constantly criticises the former Church of Pentecost chairman.

According to Omane Acheampong, the media personality is not a saint either, adding that he (Captain Smart) has been involved in numerous incidents that deserve questioning.

“Is Captain Smart an attorney general? So why are you disgracing people based on hearsay? I have a lot of reports about Captain Smart, but I won't say them.

“He doesn’t have any facts to support what he is saying. The court hasn’t declared him guilty, so why would he sit on Onua and disgrace him?” he said.

Omane Acheampong also questioned Captain Smart, asking why he refrains from discussing his own private matters on air while frequently addressing the personal issues of others across the country.

He added that the media personality should render an unqualified apology to Apostle Onyinah.

“Captain Smart, why don’t you discuss your family issues on the radio? The fact that he (Captain Smart) supports the NDC doesn’t give him the chance to sit on air and insult prominent people.

“I am repeating that Captain Smart should go and apologise to Apostle Onyinah for the statements he made against him. Also, if the NDC is giving him money to say whatever he is saying, he should be very careful because he doesn’t know what the future holds,” he added.

Nicholas Omane Acheampong’s comments come in response to a recent statement by Captain Smart on national television, where he heavily criticised Apostle Opoku Onyinah, accusing him of misusing state resources meant for the National Cathedral.
