The rift between Ghanaian Dancehall musician Shatta Wale and the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer does not seem to be closing anytime soon.

The ‘My Level’ singer’s problems with EOCO and Raymond Archer begun in 2025 following matters involving his yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which was allegedly implicated in a crime in the United States.

Here are the number of times Shatta Wale has called out Raymond Archer following (and even before)his arrest

The Genesis

Prior to the case, the artiste had taken to social media to accuse of harassment and profiling.

In a series of posts on Facebook on August 5, 2025, Shatta Wale called out the Executive Director of EOCO, Raymond Archer, for leading an unprovoked armed raid to his house, adding that Archer's actions would cost the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) its seat in government.

"Raymond Archer, EOCO boss, ibe you go make NDC go out of power next 4 years. Bringing guns to my house was uncalled for !!!

"EOCO boss, the President of Ghana didn't put you in that office to come and humiliate the citizens of this country ... remember, God no go sleep !! " he posted.

EOCO, however, in a statement released, clarified that there was no armed raid on that artiste and that the Lamborghini Urus in question, had been seized months earlier with the consent of Shatta Wale as part of an investigation.

U-Turn

After his arrest, detainment and subsequent release by EOCO, in late August, Shatta Wale took to social media to express his gratitude to all stakeholders, including EOCO and Raymond Archer.

On a live TikTok appearance, he expressed appreciation to the staff members of EOCO, saying, "To all the staff of EOCO, you guys have been wonderful. At least I came there, you guys really took me through the rightful processes that you know were needed, and I just want to say God bless you."

He then singled out the name of EOCO boss and appreciated him immensely, saying, "Mr Raymond Archer, I just want to tell you, you know, I thank you so much for your understanding."

Best Friends Forever

A month later, in October 2025, Shatta Wale, in an interview with Joy Prime, described the EOCO boss as his “best friend” and adding that the seizure of the car and his arrest was divinely orchestrated.

“Raymond Archer is now my best friend because I feel God sent him to educate the people of Ghana — and that’s exactly what he did.

“He taught us how to buy cars appropriately and from the right sources. Yes, buyer beware. That’s one major problem we’ve solved in this country,” Shatta Wale said.

Another U-Turn

Fast-forward to February 2026, Shatta Wale in an interview with Asempa FM, demanded an apology from EOCO and his ‘best-friend,’ Raymond Archer for tarnishing his brand with the arrest.

"I would boldly say EOCO should apologise to my brand and not just Shatta Wale because they have really tarnished my image in foreign lands. Now everybody thinks I bought a stolen car," he said.

"Why would I buy a stolen car and flaunt it around? I felt so bad. I really respected the EOCO boss, and even when I saw him the first day, I knelt and told him that he shouldn't let the issue come out because of the way he came to my house. When I saw him, I said to myself, 'This is a new politician's face.'

"If he had told me the car was stolen, I would have asked them to take it away quietly because I was buying a fleet of cars at that time. I could have quietly replaced the car without drawing attention to myself," he added.
