Sefa is a popular Ghanaian singer
Ghanaian songstress Sefa has opened up about the challenges of navigating her music career after parting ways with her record label.
Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on March 15, 2026, the singer described the transition as a difficult but necessary phase of growth.
According to her, life after exiting a record label comes with its own struggles, likening the experience to leaving the comfort of one’s family home.
“I’ve released about two songs after I left my record label. One with Camidoh and one with Larruso. I always say that when you leave your label, it’s like moving out of your parents’ house. You wouldn’t get it that easy and you would have to find your feet,” she explained.
Sefa stated that the journey has not been smooth, noting that setbacks are part of the process of rediscovery and independence.

“As time goes on, you will fall and rise again. It’s not easy, but it’s a learning process,” she said.
Despite the challenges, the singer expressed appreciation for the support she has received from the media since going independent.
She disclosed that the encouragement and promotion from industry players have played a significant role in keeping her going.
“The media have been lovely to me. I’m naturally a friendly person, and I respect everyone equally, whether I’m on a label or not,” she shared.
Sefa added, “Other people in the media have been so welcoming and understanding to the extent that I wouldn’t know how to thank them. They promote my works so the media have been good.”
