2026 TGMA Artiste of the Year nominee, Wendy Shay
As the debate surrounding the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominations continues to heat up online, Artiste of the Year nominee Wendy Shay has stepped in, calling for unity and urging fans to celebrate their favourite artistes without tearing others down.
In a post shared on X on March 17, 2026, the ‘Too Late’ singer pointed out the growing toxicity among fanbases following the release of this year's TGMA nominee list.
She noted that the debates should not ‘feel like politics’ and pleaded with fans to treat other artistes with respect.
"Music is meant to heal, entertain, and educate… it shouldn't feel like politics. Let's support our favourite artistes with positivity and respect, without putting others down. Every artiste works hard and deserves to be appreciated," she wrote.

The post comes as several artistes and their camps are already vocal about their nominations and why they deserve to win.
Medikal has publicly declared himself the rightful Artiste of the Year winner, duo Keche expressed frustration at being overlooked entirely, and AratheJay's management filed a formal petition to the TGMA board seeking clarification over certain exclusions.
Even Wendy Shay herself used the hashtags #Artisteoftheyear #WendyShayseason #QueenSeason at the end of her post.
Wendy Shay is one of the most talked-about nominees of the edition, having earned a spot in the Artiste of the Year category alongside Black Sherif, Medikal, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton.
