RCee is a fast-rising Ghanaian singer
Management of singer RCee has questioned the nomination criteria for the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards following the exclusion of his breakout single “Agenda” from key categories, despite its popularity and cultural impact.
The singer's management has challenged the decision, particularly the omission of “Agenda” from the Best Highlife Song category and RCee’s absence from the Best New Artiste category.
In a statement released on March 19, 2026, the team suggested that the snub points to concerns about how recognition is determined within the scheme.
According to the management, their expectations for at least a nomination were grounded in the visible reach and influence of the record in 2025.

They described “Agenda” as a song that did more than perform well commercially, noting that it resonated across different age groups and became a regular feature on playlists within the Highlife space.
They argued that such an impact should ordinarily place the song in strong contention for Best Highlife Song.
According to the statement, the absence of “Agenda” raises questions about whether the category is being judged solely on traditional benchmarks or if evolving sounds within Highlife are being adequately considered.
The team also pointed to RCee’s omission from the Best New Artiste category as another area of concern.
They stated that the category is designed to spotlight emerging talents who have made significant strides within the year, and in their view, RCee’s traction gained by “Agenda” makes a strong case for inclusion.
While acknowledging that awards are not the only measure of success, the management stressed their importance in documenting progress and shaping the direction of the industry.
