Rapper Medikal has clash with YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon online
Ghanaian rapper Medikal and YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon have clashed online following comments made by the latter regarding the rapper’s Album of the Year nomination at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
A video recently surfaced on social media in which Kwadwo Sheldon argued that Medikal does not deserve the nomination, claiming the rapper did not work hard enough in 2025 to merit a spot in the category.
According to Sheldon, the TGMA board should consider removing Medikal from the category and instead include rising artiste AraTheJay’s “The Odyssey” album, which he described as a superior project with higher streaming numbers.

Sheldon’s remarks did not sit well with Medikal, who took to social media to express his frustration.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb on March 22, 2026, Medikal cautioned Sheldon against undermining his work, insisting that he put in significant effort to produce his “Disturbation 2” album in 2025.
“Don’t drive hate toward a young, upcoming artiste just so he feels he can compete with me. You can promote him respectfully, but please refrain from mentioning my name and suggesting that my work be removed from the category. I would wake up at 8 a.m. and call A-Town to meet me in the studio to record. We recorded over 50 songs.
“My work gives you content. If my songs don’t come out, you won’t have anything to break down on your platform to make money from YouTube. You need me, but I don’t need you. So go ahead and run your show, but don’t try to undermine my work,” Medikal said.
Following the rapper’s response, Kwadwo Sheldon also fired back during an X Space session, where he was heard hurling insults at Medikal.
During the session, Sheldon described Medikal as an artiste without talent and suggested that the rapper could have addressed the issue more respectfully instead of accusing him of undermining his work.

“What talent does he even have? You people will say all sorts of things, but when I respond, I’m painted as the bad person. Meanwhile, you started this. Do you think I’m afraid of you?
“I’ve supported your work and even done breakdowns of your songs. The reaction videos I make using your music get flagged due to copyright.
“Do you think I am vulnerable? Are you mad? Do you think I haven’t achieved what you claim to have? Do I come to your house to ask for launch money? Who do you think you are?” he fired.
