Head of Communication at Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa, has strongly responded to Media and Public Relations Officer of Shatta Movement, Sammy Flex, for questioning Stonebwoy’s claim that he spent $20,000 on the production of a song for Ghana’s national team.

At the official launch of Ghana’s fundraising campaign ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra on March 20, 2026, Stonebwoy pledged a total of $101,000 to the Black Stars World Cup fundraising committee to support flying fans to the tournament.

The contribution includes $81,000 in cash and $20,000 in music-related support.

However, on March 21, 2026, Sammy Flex suggested that the $20,000 Stonebwoy mentioned as production cost for the song may not reflect reality.

He questioned whether the BHIM Nation President “killed” 15 people for the production to cost that much, describing it as just a recorded audio and adding that Stonebwoy’s claim was a “cooked story.”

In an interview with DJ Slim, which aired on March 23, 2026, Vida Adutwumwaa responded, saying Sammy Flex should refrain from commenting if he does not understand the realities of music investment.

The Head of Communication at Burniton Music Group further indicated that she is not surprised that Sammy Flex doubts the $20,000 spent on production, saying that within the Shatta Movement camp, there is a belief that little money should be spent on production or even on music video shoots.

For that reason, she said she is not shocked by Sammy’s statement.

“I was really disheartened by that statement. Does he even understand what goes into music investment? Does he think a beat just comes together like stones being thrown onto a ceiling and the sound alone is what makes a record? From writing the lyrics, to recording, mixing, mastering, and even shooting a video, every step costs money and serious effort. This is not something you do casually.

“Honestly, I’m not surprised this is coming from someone like Sammy. Coming from where he’s from, there’s a belief that you don’t need to invest much into your craft. Some even think proper music videos aren’t necessary. So hearing this from him and his camp doesn’t shock me at all,” Vida said.

She further added that the $20,000 Stonebwoy referenced as production support for the Black Stars is even on the lower side of what the artiste typically spends on his music.

“In fact, for someone like Stonebwoy to spend $20,000, I can confidently say that is one of the cheapest amounts he has ever put into his music production,” she added.
