The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority (NFA), James Gardiner, has reaffirmed the authority's commitment to pushing for the growth of the film industry.

Speaking at the press screening of the film "Virgin on the Throne," Gardiner used the occasion to address concerns about the pace of progress in the local film sector.

"We want to see the industry fluid. We want to see our actors working and having busy schedules, and all of us making money for it to become a very profitable venture," he said.

The NFA deputy CEO noted the difficulties involved, stating that progress would not come overnight but insisted that the work was ongoing regardless.

"We are doing everything it takes; trust me, we're working. It may not be very easy. We may have to knock on doors once, twice, thrice, maybe more. But eventually, that door is going to open," he stated.

His comments come at a time when stakeholders in Ghana's creative arts sector continue to call for stronger institutional support, better distribution infrastructure, and increased investment to help the industry.

At an earlier seminar in Kumasi, Gardiner stated that the GH¢20 million allocation to the film industry has been delivered, and the National Film Fund will go into effect soon.
