Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has spoken candidly about his long-running feud with his colleague Shatta Wale, revealing that reconciliation at this point would feel like a betrayal to the spirit of his late mother.

Speaking in an interview with Angel FM, Stonebwoy explained that the conflict between the two has escalated to a level where any public display of goodwill toward his rival would come at a personal cost he is unwilling to bear.

The two artistes have been at loggerheads for close to a decade, with both constantly exchanging shots and derogatory remarks at each other through interviews and social media.

Speaking on this, Stonebwoy dismissed the notion that such exchanges are merely part of showbiz. He stressed that as artistes, they carry a responsibility to represent Ghana positively on the world stage.

"The faction justifies it by saying 'it's just a game.' But if we are trying to use our music to represent or market Ghana to the whole world, there are a lot of ways you can use to do the marketing, but there are certain statements you cannot use in the name of marketing," he said.

He added, "Once you say certain things in the name of marketing or strategy or publicity, you have damaged it."

The feud between the two reached a bitter point in 2018, when Stonebwoy alleged that Shatta Wale had accused him of being responsible for the death of his late mother, Catherine Satekla, who passed away in 2015, allegations Shatta Wale has since denied.

For Stonebwoy, that accusation remains an unhealed wound, one that makes any form of reconciliation unthinkable.

"So, looking at where things have gotten to at this point, if I start smiling or laughing with the person, even my mother's ghost will kill me," he said.
