Ernestina Fosu breaks down in tears at the ‘Celebration of Life’ event
A video making rounds on social media captures a moment where the late Daddy Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, was seen consoling her sister-in-law, Ernestina Fosu, during a “Celebration of Life” event held at the University of Ghana.
This happened when Ernestina Fosu burst into tears upon hearing one of Daddy Lumba’s songs at the event.
Ernestina Fosu, dressed in a white kaba and slit, was seated beside Akosua Serwaa, who wore black in line with tradition, as she comforted her during the moment.
The emotional scene has since drawn reactions online, with many Ghanaians sharing their thoughts.
Lumba’s Celebration of Life Event: Court adjourns injunction case to April 23
The “Celebration of Life” event has not been without controversy. Plans for the gathering, which was intended to serve as a second memorial following Daddy Lumba’s funeral in December 2025, were marked by tensions and legal disputes among family members.
Disagreements, especially involving spouses and family leadership, led to court interventions.
The event, which eventually took place on March 28, 2026, was held to honour Akosua Serwaa.
Several close associates attended to pay their respects, including Papa Shee, relatives of Akosua Serwaa, Hopeson Adorye, Florence Obinim, and representatives of the Ekuona Royal Family, led by its newly appointed head.
