Popular media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has thrown her weight behind President John Dramani Mahama's decision not to prioritise the controversial Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, insisting that the government's focus should be on the everyday struggles of ordinary Ghanaians.

The President, during an interview, had said he would rather focus on the basic needs of Ghanaians, not the bill.

In a reaction to the President's new stance on March 31, 2026, Nana Aba argued that the country's limited resources and energy must be directed toward more pressing concerns rather than the contentious bill.

"Basic needs must always come first. Our money and energy should be channeled into what truly makes life easier for the average Ghanaian," she said.

The media figure pointed out what she believes should be at the top of the national agenda.

"Food, water, jobs, and dignity, those are the things people actually struggle with," she added.

Nana Aba's comments align with a growing chorus of public figures who have applauded President Mahama's new stance, including WanlutheKubolor and other opponents of the controversial bill.
