Founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Kumchacha, has sparked conversations with his comments on marriage and divorce.

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on April 5, 2026, the preacher stated that couples should not hesitate to walk away from marriages where love no longer exists.

According to him, divorce is not entirely forbidden, as it is referenced in the Bible, although it comes with certain expectations and responsibilities.

“When you’re married, and it happens that you no longer love your partner, you can serve him/her a divorce paper. Divorce is mentioned in the Bible. It’s also said in the Bible that when you divorce your partner, you shouldn’t marry again. Can we adhere to that policy?” he said.

Prophet Kumchacha further emphasised the role of intimacy in sustaining marriages, describing it as a major factor in many relationships.

“Marriage to a lot of people, sex is 90%. When couples have misunderstandings, they bond again through sex after they resolve the issue,” he noted.

Sharing his perspective, he said, while certain domestic responsibilities may not be a priority for him, intimacy remains non-negotiable.

“When it comes to my perspective about marriage, when a woman doesn’t know how to cook, I don’t mind. I wouldn’t mind if she can’t do house chores, but if she doesn’t allow intimacy all the time, that would be a problem,” he shared.

Prophet Kumchacha added that, in his view, availability for intimacy is an important expectation in marriage.

“The woman should be available whenever I need her,” he added.
