The Manhyia Palace in Kumasi will host the 2026 Hollywood Africa Prestigious Awards (HAPAwards), in what promises to be a landmark convergence of African royalty and global entertainment.
The announcement came on April 9, 2026, when HAPAwards Founder and President Tina Weisinger led a delegation of executives to Manhyia Palace to present their vision to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the Awukudae Festival.
Photos shared by the Manhyia Palace on its official social media accounts show the delegation standing before the Asante court in a hall filled with chiefs and elders dressed in traditional kente and printed cloth.
The delegation was seen greeting the Asantehene during the festival.
Now in its tenth year, the HAPAwards celebrates African and diasporic talent across film, music, and entertainment, with a mission to bridge African and global communities.
This will be the first time the Manhyia Palace, the seat of one of Africa's most revered royal institutions, will host the event.
