Entertainment pundit MC Yaa Yeboah has strongly defended the recently held Gomoa Easter Carnival, describing criticisms surrounding the event as unfair and disrespectful to the organisers.

Speaking during a discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz on April 12, 2026, she noted that the carnival has significantly boosted Gomoa's visibility as a viable holiday destination.

According to her, the initiative has opened up new tourism opportunities, especially for individuals seeking alternative places to relax during festive seasons.

“This has brought visibility to Gomoa. Today, when someone needs a place to go aside from the usual destinations, this has created a new holiday spot for people to enjoy,” she said.

MC Yaa Yeboah did not mince words in addressing critics who have questioned the relevance and success of the carnival.

She described such comments as an “insult” not only to the Member of Parliament but also to the team of creatives who worked tirelessly to bring the event to life.

“The whole brouhaha of people doubting the success of the Gomoa Easter Carnival, that’s an insult. Not just to the honourable Member of Parliament but to the great minds that were behind this beautiful carnival,” she stated.

She further highlighted the impressive effort that went into organising the event within a short timeframe, revealing that promotion for the carnival only became widely noticeable a few months prior.

“It was this year that I started hearing about the promotion for the carnival. To use less than four months to pull up such an event is not a joke,” she shared.

MC Yaa Yeboah also took a swipe at individuals who questioned the impact of such creative initiatives, stating that such views stem from ignorance about the creative arts industry's role in national development.

“If someone were to ask what the carnival would do for us, it clearly shows that you’re ignorant,” she noted.

She added, “We’ve actually entertained these talks from people to the extent that, before, some of the leaders thought creative people have nothing to offer. We can’t keep entertaining this.”
