Dulcie Boateng is a Ghanaian social media influencer
Founder of Accra-based retail exhibition and networking event Porials Pitch, and social media influencer, Dulcie Boateng, has redefined what success looks like, and, in her view, it begins when people start to question your story.
Speaking at the Porials Pitch Power Talk held on April 14, 2026, at Ghud Park in Accra, the founder of the fast-growing retail exhibition and networking event shared a perspective that resonated with her audience of young vendors and aspiring business owners.
According to Dulcie, success reaches a point where it becomes difficult for others to relate to. She explained that when achievements are within the average person’s reach, they are easily accepted.
However, once those achievements become extraordinary, they are often met with scepticism and labelled as “settings.”

“We have not succeeded until people believe we are lying. So that’s when someone goes to say that she made GH¢800k from TikTok alone, they will say it’s not possible. Until they tell you that things you are doing are not possible, you know that you’ve not made it. They have to not believe you. Because ‘settings’ basically means that the things you are doing, they can’t relate. That’s the only time they’ll say ‘settings’.
“If somebody says that I bought water, people will believe it because they can buy water. But if you say you bought a private jet, they might look at you some way because they can’t buy a private jet,” she said.
With the next Porials Pitch event scheduled for April 18, 2026, Dulcie urged vendors to approach the opportunity with intention and intensity, stressing that the event presents a chance to generate significant income.
She encouraged participants who have booked stands at the event to tap into the spending power of attendees and aim for sales figures that would leave people questioning how such earnings were made in a single day.
“I need all of you to go hard on Saturday. I need you to be market women because the people that are coming here, there’s money in their pocket and you need to collect it. I need you guys to go home and count some money that people will not believe you made the money in one day. If they don’t say your money is ‘settings’, you’ve made it in life,” she added.
