Shatta Wale made me invest in Stonebwoy - Prince Tagoe claims

Former Black Stars player Prince Tagoe has recounted what motivated him to financially invest in dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

During a TikTok Live monitored by GhanaWeb on April 15, 2026, Prince Tagoe revealed that his decision to support Stonebwoy was influenced by an advice he received from DJ Mensah and Shatta Wale.

According to the ex-footballer, both Shatta Wale and DJ Mensah encouraged him to invest in Stonebwoy despite ongoing tensions within the music industry.

“I met Tinny at Labone with Wale, and I told them what I wanted to do. That was when Shatta Wale told me that if I truly wanted to do it, I should do it for Stonebwoy. I can confirm that it was Shatta Wale and DJ Mensah who made me open my heart and invest my resources in Stone.

“DJ Mensah is in Ghana, and anyone who thinks I’m lying can verify it. These are the two people who influenced my decision,” he said.

Prince Tagoe further explained that he received the advice at a time when tensions were high between Shatta Wale and Samini in the music industry.

“At that time, there was serious tension between Shatta Wale and Samini. Shatta was already established, and whatever he needed was between him and me. But he also wanted what I was doing to be successful,” he added.
