'Being called female Shatta Wale is an honour' - Wendy Shay

Ghanaian artiste Wendy Shay has expressed excitement over the recognition she continues to receive from fans and music lovers regarding her growth in the music industry.

In an interview shared on X on April 17, 2026, Wendy Shay stated that she feels honoured when people refer to her as the female version of Shatta Wale.

According to her, being associated with Shatta Wale is a significant achievement.

“It’s like an award for me when people refer to me as the female version of Shatta Wale. It’s a great achievement because Shatta Wale is one of the greatest of all time,” she said.

Wendy Shay further noted that Shatta Wale has had a positive influence on her career, adding that she will always be proud to be associated with him.

“If someone thinks I am the female version of him, then it means we share similar traits. Shatta Wale has inspired me in many ways, so who wouldn’t want to be associated with him?” she added.
