Ghanaian actress and media personality Xandy Kamel has responded strongly to a social media user who criticised her body and urged her to “fix her shape.”

In a video sighted by GhanaWeb on April 18, 2026, she revealed that she woke up to the message in her direct messages but chose to reflect on it differently this time.

“I woke up this morning and found this message in my DM. I read the message over and over again. When I got up from my bed, stood in front of my mirror, looked at myself very well and I realised I’m very beautiful. I’m so pretty,” she said.

She admitted that in the past, such comments affected her deeply, often leading to emotional distress and self-doubt.

“A few years or months ago, whenever I saw comments like this in my DM or under my comment section, I got depressed. I cried myself to sleep and questioned whether I was not woman enough,” she stated.

Xandy Kamel, however, noted that her perspective has since changed, explaining that criticism persists regardless of one’s appearance.

“But moving forward, I’ve realised that even those who do BBL are still being trolled under their comment section. They would say the BBL is smelling or their body is not evenly done. I don’t know what humans want,” she said.

She further questioned the intentions of online trolls, suggesting that some people may never be satisfied.

“Maybe they want us to die so they would be satisfied. I don’t let these things bother me anymore,” she added.

Emphasising self-worth, she noted that physical appearance does not define a person’s character or capabilities.

“I’ve realised that aside from my tummy being big, I’m a beautiful woman. My tummy being big doesn’t mean my mind is corrupt. I have a mind capable of taking care of a man,” she said.
