‘I don't like being labelled a baby mama’ - Kisa Gbekle asserts

Actress and filmmaker Kisa Gbekle has stated that she dislikes being labeled a ‘baby mama,’ explaining that she would have preferred to marry before becoming a mother.

In an interview on Atuu on UTV, aired April 18, 2026, the actress, who is a mother of one, noted that she loves children and hopes to have two or three more, but only within marriage.

“I love children, and I wish to have two or three more when I marry, but not out of wedlock again, because at least I already have one,” she said.

Kisa Gbekle explained that she is not proud to be called a baby mama, as that was not her plan. According to her, she had intended to marry before having children, but life turned out differently.

She noted that although she is not proud of giving birth out of wedlock, she does not regret becoming a mother

“I am not proud to be called a baby mama, because that wasn’t the plan for me before I had a baby. The idea was to be married and have kids, but life offers you things that sometimes you do not want, and you don’t have a choice; you can’t reject them. I am not proud, but I don’t regret being a mother. My baby has moved me from A to Z,” she said.

The actress added that she is currently not in a relationship and is not actively seeking a partner, noting that she does not see what a man could bring into her life beyond intimacy.
