I used to fall in love with feelings and emotions, now I want money and trips - Tiwa Savage

Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has once again sparked conversations after opening up about how her views on romantic relationships have evolved.

In a recent podcast appearance, the award-winning artiste revealed that she previously prioritized love and emotional connection in relationships, something she now believes has been a mistake.

She said her perspective has shifted significantly, and financial stability has become a factor in choosing a partner.

“That is the mistake I used to make. Like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t care if you don’t have money, just love.’ I think now, I need someone who has money. I’m at that point now. You can judge me, I don’t care,” she said.

Tiwa Savage added that she is no longer interested in deeply committed relationships. Instead, she prefers something more spontaneous and short-term.

“I’m not even looking for something long. Have money, take me to Saint-Tropez, Monaco, let’s see how the summer goes. It doesn’t have to be deep. I’ve been on the other side for a long time; I want to try this side,” she added.

She further noted that just as men often have a long list of women they would like to be with, she sees no reason why she shouldn’t have her own preferences as well.
