Head pastor of Potter's City, Prophet Nanasei Opoku Sarkodie, has urged unmarried individuals to consciously preserve their virginity until marriage.

During a message shared on the church's official Instagram page on Tuesday, April 21, the pastor noted that being a virgin alone is not enough to gain eternal life.

He said it will rather help prevent sexually related consequences that follow premarital relationships.

"If you are young or you're a teenager, stay away from sex. Make a vow to marry in your virginity. It will not take you to heaven, but it will help you from all fleshly problems," he said.

Citing a personal experience, the pastor noted how a former sexual partner still disrespects him despite his position as a revered clergyman.

"I wish I had married as a virgin. I wish. Once in my life, I met my former girlfriend in school. That is where I learned that women will not respect you even after 20 or 30 years. They meet you, everybody's bowing, and they will stand still.

"She cannot forget. She was like, So God is using you? Some people have no respect for you at all," he said.

Prophet NanaSei also warned that biology lessons in school are a green light for sexual experimentation.

"They taught you biology in class five. It doesn't mean go and try it. Stay out of it.

"There are so many reasons why God wants us to marry in virginity. So many reasons. So stay there — young girl, young boy, stay there," he warned.
