‘No one can stop Shatta Wale’ - Odododiodio MP backs parliamentary ambition

Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio Constituency, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, has thrown his weight behind dancehall musician Shatta Wale following the artiste’s earlier statement about his intention to contest for a parliamentary seat.

In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on April 29, 2026, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie stated that he has no problem if Shatta Wale decides to contest for a parliamentary seat.

He explained that he believes the musician is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and, therefore, no one would stop him if he chooses to contest on the party’s ticket.

“Shatta Wale is my brother because his father is also like a father to me. I believe he is NDC, so I am sure that if he wants to contest, he will do so on the ticket of the NDC,” he said.

Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie also shared how much he admires the dancehall artiste and enjoys his creativity.

“He is the commander of the streets, and we all enjoy his music. I am a strong fan of his. As I said, he is my brother, so I will support him if he wants to contest for a parliamentary seat,” he added.
