Outspoken media personality Ohemaa Woyeje has recounted the trauma she and her husband endured in the early stages of their marriage and how they overcame it.

In an interview with MzGee aired on April 29, 2026, Ohemaa Woyeje, who had earlier disclosed that she was labelled barren due to her inability to conceive within the first year of marriage, explained the circumstances behind the situation.

According to her, the delay in getting pregnant was largely due to their long-distance marriage, a reality critics failed to understand.

The media personality revealed that the intense criticism compelled her husband to make a major sacrifice by quitting his job and relocating to Ghana so they could live together and start a family.

“Then my husband had to make a bold decision to come and stay in Ghana. I think it was for about nine months, close to a year, but not up to a full year.

“He left his job so we could be together consistently and have that connection over time so we could have a child. That’s why he stayed longer during that period, and it was towards the end of that stay that I got pregnant,” she said.

Ohemaa Woyeje also shared how she lost her job at Multimedia Group Limited after she became pregnant.

According to her, after news of her pregnancy broke, management refused to allow her to continue hosting her show, a situation that eventually forced her to resign after several attempts to resolve the issue proved unsuccessful.

“At the early stage of my pregnancy, considering all that had been said about me, you would expect that once people heard I was pregnant, they would ease the pressure and allow me to continue my work. But that never happened.

“So I had to go through the pregnancy while feeling frustrated, with my show taken away from me. Nobody explained anything to mae; it was just back and forth.

“Before I finally decided to resign for my own peace and safety… I returned from the UK in November, went through the frustration in December, and eventually resigned at the end of January 31,” she added.
