Ghanaian media personality, MC Yaa Yeboah, has taken a swipe at the government following the recent power crisis in the country.

During a discussion on United Showbiz on UTV, which was shared on social media on May 3, 2026, MC Yaa Yeboah emphasised that it is high time the government stops taking Ghanaians for granted.

She further argued that authorities must be transparent and honest with citizens instead of “playing on their intelligence.”

“Was the fire outbreak in Akosombo really the cause of the problem? In some countries, you receive alerts about issues like these, and they even caution you ahead of time. However, this is not the case in Ghana.

“The least our leaders can do is to carry us along and let us know the real problems on the ground. My major issue with this dumsor is that they should credit Ghanaians with some intelligence and tell us the truth,” she said.

MC Yaa Yeboah also expressed disappointment over the politicisation of critical national issues.

She explained that the constant politicisation of everything has negatively affected the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

“Because of how everything has been politicised in the country, it is affecting the lives of the average Ghanaian. There is always blame-shifting whenever there is a change in government, so we never get a lasting solution to our problems,” she added.
