Reggie Rockstone picked Wendy Shay to win the TGMA Artiste Of The Year
Hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone has thrown his weight behind Wendy Shay ahead of the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, saying a win for the RuffTown Records signee in the Artiste of the Year category would make for one of the most compelling stories of the night.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on May 2, 2026, Rockstone acknowledged that the field of nominees was strong across the board but singled out Wendy Shay as the outcome that would move him most.
“It will be a beautiful story if Wendy picks it up. I am just saying even from the outlook. Of course, I would love for Medikal too because he has put in a lot of work. But it will be beautiful. It will make me smile really big,” he said.

Wendy Shay goes into the May 9 ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre competing against Medikal, Black Sherif, Diana Hamilton, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie.
The stakes are particularly high for both Wendy Shay and Medikal, for whom a win would be a first. Black Sherif and Diana Hamilton have each won the top prize once before, while Stonebwoy and Sarkodie are multiple-time winners.
The event is scheduled for May 9 at the Palms Convention Centre.
