I pray Medikal wins Artiste of the Year – Ernest Adu Kumi

Entertainment pundit Ernest Adu Kumi has expressed support for rapper Medikal ahead of the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), praising his determination and desire to win.

Speaking during a discussion on Hitz FM on May 6, 2026, Ernest Adu Kumi said Medikal’s seriousness about the awards reflects how much value artistes place on the scheme.

“I like the way Medikal is attached that seriousness to winning the awards and that should tell you that he knows the value the awards bring,” he stated.

According to him, although Medikal has experienced disappointment at the awards in the past, he hopes this year turns out differently for the rapper.

“I can only wish him all the best. The way he was nominated sometime back and he didn’t get any award, I wish that this time, at least he will carry some awards home, including this and that’s if it’s possible,” he shared.

Ernest Adu Kumi further noted that artistes publicly declaring their ambitions to win major categories should inspire others to remain confident and ambitious.

He expressed hope that Medikal wins the coveted Artiste of the Year award.

“Also, to encourage other people to know that King Promise said it and he also said it. Irrespective of the fact that he will get disappointed along the line, there are times for everyone. I pray he wins the Artiste of the Year,” he added.
