Black Sherif is a Ghanaian musician
Fresh off his second Artiste of the Year victory at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Black Sherif has hinted that a third win could already be in sight as he continues to push himself relentlessly despite his latest achievement.
Speaking in an interview with TV3’s Cookie Tee on May 11, 2026, the award-winning musician reflected on the possibility of making history as the first Ghanaian artiste to win the coveted Artiste of the Year title three times.
According to Black Sherif, his work ethic remains unchanged even after securing one of the biggest honours in Ghanaian music.
He revealed that although he was crowned Artiste of the Year in the early hours of Sunday, May 10, he was already back to work the very next day.
“It’s possible, most definitely possible. Cause am still working, I'm back to work. We won the award Sunday dawn, back to work Monday, we are still working. It’s hundred percent possible,” he said firmly
He explained that there is no room for rest despite the accolades, stressing that he remains focused and committed to his craft. The “Iron Boy” hitmaker noted that his relentless drive and consistency could eventually propel him to a third Artiste of the Year victory.
The conversation emerged after Cookie Tee pointed out that while several Ghanaian music heavyweights have won the award twice, no artiste has managed to clinch it three times.
“No artiste in Ghana so far has won Artiste of the Year three times; you’ve now joined a number of legends like VVIP, like Sarkodie, like Stonebwoy who have won it twice. Is Iron Boy Blacko going to win the artiste of the year for the third time?” Cookie asked.
Before Black Sherif’s latest victory, only VVIP, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy had achieved multiple Artiste of the Year wins at the TGMAs.
