I would play more if I were a child again in Konongo Zongo – Black Sherif reflects on fame

Ghanaian global music sensation Black Sherif has opened up about his childhood, revealing that if he ever had the chance to go back in time, he would spend more time playing and enjoying life as a child.

Speaking about his early years, the award-winning musician shared that growing up, he was often told that he liked “walking about” too much.

However, with maturity and fame now placing him constantly in the public eye, the artiste says he has come to realise that he may not have fully enjoyed his childhood as much as he should have.

According to him, life in the spotlight has taken away the freedom to move around casually and enjoy simple moments without attention.

He explained that wherever he goes now, cameras and fans are constantly around him, making it difficult to freely “play” or live spontaneously.

“I feel like I would intensify my playing. Yeah, I would play more, like walk. They used to tell me I roam a lot, but I feel like I didn’t roam enough. I would play more, be like very bubbly because now I cannot,” he said

Reflecting on the realities of fame, the “Kwaku The Traveller” hitmaker noted that if he had the opportunity to relive his younger years, he would choose to be more playful, carefree, and bubbly.
