Nigerian music star Davido has recounted how he once got back at an Atlanta club owner who allegedly barred African music from being played at his venue.

Speaking about the incident, Davido revealed that the club owner had stopped a DJ from playing Nigerian songs at his club in Atlanta years ago.

According to the singer, the same club owner later attempted to book him for an event after his career had grown internationally.

Davido said he decided to charge the owner “millions” for the booking following the earlier incident.

“I will never forget, one DJ was playing African music, and the owner of the club took the mic. He said they should stop Nigerian music. Three years later, the guy tried to book me, I charged him millions,” he said

He further disclosed that there was another occasion where he personally visited the club but was denied entry by the owner.

The award-winning artiste explained that he then called on his loyal fanbase, popularly known as “30BG,” to react online. According to him, his fans flooded the club’s social media page with criticism, causing significant backlash for the business.

Davido added that the club owner later realized the influence and power of his fanbase after the online pressure reportedly affected the club’s reputation.

He noted that during his next visit to the venue, the owner rolled out a red carpet treatment for him.

“I don’t know why the guy just hated us. There was one day, the guy didn’t allow us in his club, so I sent all my fans to his page. Then he called, the next day, when I was going, they put a red carpet for me. 30BG destroyed his page, there were taking the page down,” he said humorously.
