Following the increasing reports of FBI-linked arrests involving some Ghanaian nationals over alleged romance scams and money laundering activities, Ghanaian media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has expressed concern over the situation.

In a post shared on X on May 23, 2026, MC Yaa Yeboah claimed that some popular personalities may be avoiding international travel due to fears of possible arrest or interrogation at foreign airports.

According to her, the frequent reports of arrests linked to alleged fraud and cybercrime activities have created fear among some individuals who would ordinarily travel abroad regularly.

“Every other week, there’s news about FBI-linked arrests in Ghana. Truth is, some of our favourite personalities can’t comfortably travel abroad. Stop acting clueless. Not everybody avoiding international trips now is ‘too busy’; some are just scared at this point,” she wrote.

The media personality further suggested that some celebrities have developed anxiety over the possibility of airport immigration checks suddenly turning into interrogation sessions.

“They are scared airport immigration might turn into an interrogation room… quite worrying,” she added.

Her comments come in the wake of recent high-profile arrests involving some Ghanaians by the FBI and Interpol over allegations of fraudulent activities.

Some Ghanaians who have reportedly been picked up in connection with such cases include the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, who was arrested in the Netherlands, as well as Abu Trica, Dada Joe, Kofi Boat, Lancaster, Arrangement, and others.

Some of these individuals have reportedly been extradited to the United States, where they are currently facing trial.
