Ghana-based Nigerian comedian Parrot Mouth has criticised the Nigerian government over its handling of citizens’ welfare abroad, while praising Ghana’s response to the recent repatriation of Ghanaians from South Africa amid renewed fears of xenophobic violence.

In a video shared on social media, the comedian commended the Ghanaian government for what he described as its swift and decisive intervention to protect its nationals abroad.

Parrot Mouth further urged Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, to teach Nigeria’s President Tinubu how a country should be governed.

“President Tinubu is acting deaf to the pleas of Nigerians, but Ghana has sent a flight to carry their people back home and has even given them ‘Ghana Must Go’ bags of food items and money to go back to their various locations.

“It’s looking like Ghana’s President should go and teach our President how to govern. Okudzeto Ablakwa is very hardworking, unlike our Foreign Minister, who knows nothing,” Parrot Mouth said.

Meanwhile, on the evening of May 27, 2026, a flight carrying nearly 300 Ghanaians repatriated from South Africa landed in Ghana.

The evacuation followed rising concerns over a possible resurgence of xenophobic attacks linked to protests against illegal immigration in South Africa.

Ghana chartered a flight from Johannesburg to facilitate the safe return of affected citizens. Authorities say about 800 Ghanaians have so far registered for repatriation, with further flights expected in the coming days.

At the airport, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and other officials welcomed the first group of returnees.
