Senior Pastor of Newspring Chapel, Pastor Badu Kyenkyenhene, has shared his views on why many men struggle with womanising, arguing that what often appears to be self-control is, in some cases, the result of circumstances rather than a complete change of heart.

Speaking to his congregation, the pastor suggested that factors such as the fear of God, social status, wealth and personal responsibilities often influence men's behaviour and may limit opportunities for infidelity rather than eliminate the desire altogether.

Drawing from his own experiences, Pastor Kyenkyenhene admitted that he still considers himself a womaniser who is working to overcome the tendency, explaining that his position as a religious leader and the expectations of his congregants play a significant role in keeping him accountable.

“I admit I’m a womaniser, but I’m trying to quit. The truth is that many men haven’t completely stopped womanising; they’ve only paused due to circumstances,” he said.

The pastor further urged people to be honest about human weaknesses, particularly those faced by men, and challenged members of his congregation to reflect on how they would respond if certain social and moral constraints were removed.

According to him, environment and context can significantly shape behaviour, making some temptations easier to resist in certain settings than in others.

To illustrate his point, he said a preacher may find it easier to maintain discipline in a smaller community such as New Edubiase, but could face greater challenges in a bustling urban area like Spintex, where exposure and interactions may be more frequent.

His remarks have since generated discussion on social media, with many weighing in on his views regarding male fidelity, personal accountability and the influence of circumstances on behaviour.
