Celestine Donkor is a popular Ghanaian gospel musician
Gospel musician and author Celestine Donkor says one of the greatest gifts parents can give their children is a personal relationship with God.
Speaking at the second edition of Convergence of Mothers, organised by media personality MzGee, the mother of three girls revealed that faith has been one of the central pillars of her parenting journey as she and her husband raise their three daughters.
According to her, the couple intentionally introduced their children to prayer, Bible study, and personal devotion from an early age because they understood that there are challenges in life that parents cannot solve.
"There comes a time in life when your mother cannot help you and your father cannot help you. All you have is God," she said.

The musician explained that while many parents focus on academic achievement and material success, she believes spiritual development is equally important.
"We wanted our God to become our children's God," she said.
To achieve that, the family established regular devotional routines, both collectively and individually. Even when their schedules prevented them from gathering together, Donkor and her husband continued to check on their children's personal spiritual lives.
"Have you done your devotion? What did you read today?" she recalled asking them regularly.
Donkor shared that one of her daughters, who is currently in school, often ends up encouraging her spiritually during difficult moments.
"I call her to encourage her, and she tells me, 'Mommy, God has already sorted me out,'" she said.
The experience has reassured her that the values planted years ago are taking root.
