LilWin is a Kumawood actor
Filmmaker and actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has revealed why he was absent from the 15th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards.
He explained that his absence was intentional, noting that he would have ended up in a fight with someone had he attended the event.
LilWin explained that he initially planned to attend the ceremony but was prevented by heavy rain on Sunday, June 7, 2026, the day of the event.

He said the weather caused him to miss his flight, forcing him to travel by road from Kumasi to Accra instead.
However, he said upon reaching Suhum, he began having thoughts that made him uncomfortable, prompting him to return.
He added that if he had made it to the event, it would have turned into an unpleasant scene.
When asked directly whether there was a specific person he had a problem with, he confirmed but declined to mention the individual involved.
“Because of the rain, I missed my flight, so I decided to drive instead. However, when I got to Suhum, all I could think about was beating someone, so I turned back and returned home. If I had gone to the event, I honestly believe I would have ended up beating someone,” LilWin stated.

LilWin, who won Best Actor in a Leading Role at the just-ended Ghana Movie Awards held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, also noted that he considers that award his last. According to him, he is no longer interested in receiving such honours.
He explained that the award should now be given to younger actors to motivate them, adding that his body of work has already gained global recognition.
