Singer and one half of the defunct P-Square duo, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has said celebrities alone do not have the capacity to save Nigeria.

He stated this while reacting to the incessant calls for celebrities to speak against bad governance, insecurity, and economic hardship in the country.

Speaking in a recent interview with Wazobia FM Lagos, Mr P explained that it would take the efforts of all Nigerians to bring positive change to the nation.

“I apologise for saying I won’t concern myself with Nigeria’s challenges anymore. I may have security agencies guiding me, but not everyone can afford it. This is our country; it is only us who can bring positive change.

“However, celebrities alone can’t save Nigeria. All those clamouring for celebrities to speak up against bad governance should redirect their energy. It is not a matter of celebrities. This government has failed us all. But together, we can bring the desired change,” he stated.
