Ghanaian content creator and influencer Ama Burland has explained why she blocked a social media user who ranked her among the highest-paid influencers.

She mentioned that such claims could negatively affect her business relationships.

Speaking in a recent interview with Giovani Caleb on TV3, Ama Burland said her growth as a public figure is largely due to her ability to connect with people and the positive experiences they have when interacting with her.

“I feel like I progress as a person because of how relatable I am and how I connect with people. On the times when people catch me on a good day, they have a very great experience and then pass it on to others,” she stated.

She continued, “If you catch me on a bad day, too, you wouldn’t like me. I think my brand grows whenever people talk about the good experience they’ve had with me.”

When asked why she blocked a fan who listed her as one of the highest-paid influencers, Ama Burland admitted that she did so intentionally.

“Yes, I blocked him,” she said.

Explaining her decision, the influencer questioned the motive behind making such claims, arguing that no one knows the true financial situation of another person.

“Because what do you want to do to me? Why would you put me in such a position, on such a pedestal? You’re sacking my helpers because how did you know? You don’t know anybody’s finances,” she shared.

Ama Burland further revealed that the individual repeatedly made similar claims, leading her to believe he was placing unnecessary attention on her earnings.

“I realised the person kept doing it. It’s like he’s trying to put a target on my back,” she added.
