Legendary Ghanaian gospel musician Grace Ashley has called on Ghanaians to rally behind the Black Stars ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, urging the public to replace criticism with unconditional support.

Speaking in an interview with ZhikayIke on June 11, 2026, the musician, who has been a fervent supporter of the country’s national football team, acknowledged the widespread doubts surrounding the team but insisted that Ghanaians have no choice but to get behind the only team that represents them on the world stage.

"All I want to tell Ghanaians is to believe in what they have. No matter how you see them, they are the only team we have. We need to talk good about them and support them," she said.

Ashley stressed that massive support from the country could make a difference in the team's fortunes and that abandoning them is simply not an option.

"We can't go and pick any other team, so let us celebrate them and make sure they do well. Our support will move them forward," she added.

The veteran musician also suggested that the very year everyone has written the Black Stars off could turn out to be their most remarkable.

"For all we know, this year that we are talking about their poor performance, this could be the year God will do a miracle," she said.
