Clemento Suarez doesn’t deserve ‘Favourite Actor’ award - LilWin

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as LilWin, has stirred debate following comments about the Favourite Actor category at the 2026 Ghana Movie Awards.

Speaking in a video sighted by GhanaWeb on June 17, 2026, LilWin expressed confidence in his ability to continue winning awards, stating that he may even give away future awards to support emerging talents in the industry.

According to him, he has won numerous awards throughout his career and no longer places much value on local accolades.

“Next year, I will win the award again, but I will dash it to someone. I will give the award to the upcoming ones to motivate them because I’ve won a lot of awards, and this one is the least of them,” he said.

The actor noted that he was not surprised by his Best Actor win, insisting that he deserves the recognition based on his performance and contributions to the movie industry.

“I knew that even if I was sleeping, I would still win. I’ve achieved so much through my works and I’m even fed up of the local awards. When I won the best actor, everyone knew I deserved it,” he shared.

However, LilWin questioned the outcome of the Favourite Actor category, which was won by Clemento Suarez.

While acknowledging Clemento Suarez's talent in comedy, he argued that the comedian did not deserve to win the acting category.

“The favorite actor award went to someone but he didn’t deserve to win it. Clemento Suarez is one of the best in comedy. When it comes to stage comedy, he’s my favorite because he’s so good. With movies, when they say he’s the favorite actor, I don’t agree on that,” he stated.

LilWin further stated that Clemento Suarez should hand over the award to him, claiming he is the rightful winner.

“He should package the award and send it to me because that award wasn’t for him,” he said.

LilWin added that even if he is not considered for the award, Dr Likee deserves it.

“Even if they didn’t want to give that one to me, they should have given it to Dr Likee. He also deserved that category, so he should rather send the award to Dr Likee so that he can be motivated enough to do more for Ghana,” LilWin added.
