Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy has shed light on the creative process behind the newly released song dedicated to Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on June 17, 2026, the award-winning dancehall artiste explained that the song was carefully crafted to inspire patriotism, determination, and a winning mentality among players and supporters alike.

According to Stonebwoy, the song was a collaborative effort between him and renowned music producer Mix Master Garzy, who played a key role in shaping its overall sound and message.

“Master Garzy and I collaborated on this one. We needed that chant; it’s a chant that we all know, and it reminds us of the military mentality. For us, it’s a football match, but it’s also a place where you have to go with your heart and your might to go and defeat your opponent,” he said.

He noted that the inclusion of the popular “zaminamina” chant was intentional, as it serves as a rallying call to awaken the spirit of Ghanaians and motivate the team ahead of competitions.

“We added the chant to the song to call people’s spirit to awaken and there couldn’t have been any better introduction than the ‘zaminamina’ that we all know,” he stated.

Stonebwoy further praised Mix Master Garzy and the production team for investing significant effort and resources into ensuring the song met high-quality standards.

“In terms of production, I would like the opportunity to be given to the production team, especially the team lead, Mix Master Garzy. He actually delved and went deep into it. We want to give Ghanaians quality and to produce music that is quality, which doesn’t come easy and is not cheap as well,” he shared.

The musician added that every aspect of the production was carefully engineered to create a timeless piece that could remain relevant whenever the Black Stars are in action.

“We made sure we engineered all the sources that we can and made sure we produce something of quality that will last long. The way we constructed the song, it’s going to be a song that can be used anytime, any day, and whenever the Black Stars are involved,” he added.
