Ghanaian social media user, Webkid, has been granted bail after being arrested over allegations of cyberbullying and derogatory remarks he allegedly made about Stonebwoy’s wife and family on social media.

In a video shared by JoyNews and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 22, 2026, a lawyer for the social media user disclosed that his client had been granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000.

According to the lawyer, Webkid has been left traumatised after spending approximately 41 days in custody.

He explained that Webkid, who is a businessman, has lost most of his clients during the period of his detention.

“He is very traumatised because he has lost his clients. He is a businessman, and he has lost most of them. I am praying that his clients listening to us will return to him,” he said.

The lawyer further argued that Webkid was not given a fair process and claimed the charges brought against him were inappropriate.

“If you want to determine whether this is justifiable enough, ask yourself this: would they pursue the same charges if he had made the same comments in the print media? If they would not prosecute him for making the same comments in traditional media, then answer for yourself whether this is appropriate or not,” he said.

Webkid was first remanded on May 11 and later on May 26 after prosecutors reportedly filed fresh charges. His total number of charges increased from four to six as investigations continued.
