Gospel musician Akosua Agyapong has criticised Ghanaian health practitioners, alleging that some doctors and nurses in the country are contributing to the loss of lives.

Speaking to Nayas on the Experience in Life show, Akosua Agyapong alleged that some health practitioners cause the deaths of patients by refusing to admit and attend to them, often citing the lack of available beds and directing them to other health facilities instead.

She accused health practitioners of turning patients away instead of administering first aid before any transfer is considered.

"Doctors and nurses in these countries are killing citizens, yet they still have their licenses and continue working. Someone can come to your hospital and, instead of administering first aid and trying to save the person's life, you tell them there is no bed and ask them to go to another hospital.

“If it were your mother or father, would you have turned them away? The way some of these doctors and nurses are causing people to lose their lives in this country, they end up apologizing only after the damage has been done," she said.

Sharing an instance to support her argument, Akosua recounted a story involving a woman who appeared on her television show and allegedly lost her only 24-year-old daughter due to negligence.

According to Akosua Agyapong, a doctor had written instructions for a nurse to follow, but the nurse was unable to read the handwriting and allegedly administered the wrong injection, leading to the young woman's untimely death.

She further warned that she would soon take cameras to three health facilities, whose names she did not disclose, to expose alleged wrongdoing taking place at those hospitals.
