Nana Akua Addo (L) says Charlie Dior (R) should be professional with his criticisms
Ghanaian fashion icon, Nana Akua Addo, has shared her thoughts on how self-acclaimed fashion critic Charlie Dior expresses his opinions about outfits.
In an interview on the Sincerely Accra Podcast shared on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on June 23, 2026, Nana Akua Addo stated that Charlie Dior should be more professional in the way he critiques fashion.
According to her, Charlie Dior often fails to appreciate the creativity and effort behind most outfits.

She further noted that Charlie tends to attack the personalities of individuals rather than offer constructive criticism about their outfits.
“This is my problem with Charlie, and I think he should be serious about what he does. He’s very talented, but I think the clickbait has taken attention away from the intellectual aspect of actually judging fashion.
“I think he offends people and attacks them because no fashion critic should take a dress from a phone screen and use that to critique the outfit. That’s a disservice to the designer. That’s a big shame for you as a critic, as a fashion critic,” she said.

Nana Akua Addo further noted that Charlie Dior can do better and should approach fashion criticism with more professionalism.
“It was so low and below the belt. The way he criticises people, I think he attacks them personally. Your business is to talk about how the person looks and critique the outfit,” she added.
